EFRS Participates in Community Events in the Summer of 2012

In addition to responding to nearly 400 emergency calls per year, the members of El Dorado Fire and Rescue also enjoy participating in community events throughout the year.  Here a a few (click each image to enlarge):

July 4th Parade EFRS members participated in the annual Eldorado Fourth of July parade this year. They joined dogs, people, horses, and old cars in a short procession from Ave Vista Grande to the Community Center. Plenty of candy was tossed safely to the children along the parade route. The members enjoyed the event as much as the residents.

VGPL Ice Cream Social Members did their share of scooping and eating ice cream at this annual event. It is always good to meet and greet residents in a non-emergency setting.

911 Memorial  EFRS members plus their Engine 731 joined hundreds of emergency service personnel for the City of Santa Fe and other Santa Fe County Fire volunteers and full time members along with state, county, and city police in remembering their brothers who were taken in the September 1, 2001 attacks. Following a service at City Fire Station 1,  a parade moved from the station to the Plaza. There, roses, one for each fallen emergency worker, were placed on a memorial near the Plaza bandstand.
